We began visiting and photographing the villages in June 2015.  It will take a while to visit them all but in the meantime here is a list (with links to the relevant posts) of the places we have been to so far:

Elston - The Darwin connection.
Elton-on-the-Hill - A blasphemous vicar!
Flawborough - Griffin and Spaldings and a church for sale.
Flintham - The Thoroton-Hildyards and a grand house.
Granby & Sutton cum Granby - A Real Ale pub and the Belvoir Witches
Hawksworth - Tympanum and grotesque gargoyles.
Hawton - Top church carvings.
Hickling - a Basin of ducks and a good pub.
Kneeton - Twitters.
Kilvington - Religious tensions!
Kinoulton - Sir Jesse Hind, Arthur Lowe (no, not THAT one!) and poplar trees.
Langar - Home of Samuel Butler
Orston - The Waterloo drum, flowers and a lovely pub.
Owthorpe - Col. Huthinson and The Fish Ponds.
Rempstone - cars, steam engines and the Sitwells.
Scarrington - That pile of horseshoes.
Screveton - Green giants, aero tragedy and the Whalleys.
Shelton - The Warburtons and the Maltbys
Sibthorpe - The best dovecot in Britain. a murder and a less famous Archbishop of Canterbury.
Stanford on Soar - Philanthropic millionaires, railways and wounded military personnel.
Staunton in the Vale - An impressively long family history and interesting church carvings!
Syerston - Famous for its WW2 history but it was here before then.
Thoroton - Or is the best dovecot .....?
Thorpe - Home to Lucy Townsend, abolitionist, who taught women how to campaign.
Tythby  - Morganatic wife of King John and Nottinghamshire council house campaigner.
Upper Broughton - Possibly the Best Pork Pies in the World!Unfortunately now closed!! : (
Whatton - A murder and horses.
Widmerpool - Cotton Kings and an amazing effigy.
Willoughby on the Wolds - Lots of Willoughbys.
Wysall and Thorpe in the Glebe - the mysterious Stroking Boy and a murdered son.
